My students are brilliant, hilarious, curious, and creative young men from the west and south sides of Chicago. They enter my classroom from a host of different circumstances and with a host of different abilities, but each of them is working towards our school's comprehensive mission that preaches college readiness and persistence. As exceptional learners, many of my guys have been failed by the very education system that is supposed to protect them. Many are the product of labels and low expectations; others have simply been written off by their former teachers. I work each day to inspire these young men and change their mindsets about school, while also tapping into skills and talents they possess that are so crucial to their ability to learn.

About my class
