I teach Physical Education to grades K, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th grade. I have 650 students. I see about 220 students a day. My classes are 40 minutes in length back to back. Most of my student live in apartment complexes in Oklahoma. Physical Education class and recess may be the only form of exercise they receive each day. Our school is on a free breakfast and lunch program. Most families are in the low economic status. I am requesting P.E. equipment to improve the quality of our P.E. program. I am requesting a measuring wheel to measure track distance for our track and running club program. I have chosen bright colored traffic cones, hula hoops and hurdles to use as aids in obstacles courses and for aerobic fitness. I requested an iPod to download music for all my P.E. classes to enhance the excitement for exercise for all grades. With the aid of a camera, I can make my students all feel like "fitness stars".
