I teach science and communication arts to 106 6th grade students who come to me with various abilities, interests, and needs. Our communication arts class period is 90 minutes. This is a long time for students at this age to remain focused. My students sit at tables and on hard chairs, which can make remaining focused all that much harder. I continually look for ways to increase my students' engagement and motivation while teaching them the skills they need to be successful learners and citizens, and flexible seating will help with that. I want to provide more comfortable seating that motivates and engages my students and allows them to be the best learner they can be.

About my class
