We are an urban school in Indianapolis, Indiana. As a reading specialist, I work with students in first through fourth grades. The students in my school have very limited resources at home and do not have much exposure to experiences outside of school. My students are very eager to learn new things and grow as scholars. They devour new opportunities and information with an awe inspiring eagerness. Many of my students even write down important facts they learn while reading and researching that they don't want to forget. They hang-on to these notes for future reference and pull them out to share. Our students are eager to succeed both in and outside of school. A donation to our project helps give our students the much needed resources we need to give them desired opportunities and resources.
