Kindergarten students start the year with an array of emotions - excited, scared, nervous, unsure, happy, confident and more. One way that I try to either encourage their enthusiasm or support them through their struggles is to make sure that they are walking into a classroom that is inviting, cheerful, and filled with items and supplies that will support their social, emotional, and academic growth throughout the school year. The items that I have requested promote honoring and respecting the diversity among the students in our classroom. The books, art supplies, and other various learning tools will help students meet goals in their literacy and social studies goals. It would be so wonderful to start the school year knowing that I am providing a safe and happy environment for my students.
