My students come from a variety of backgrounds, but the majority of them come from poverty and are considered "at risk." Almost all of them read significantly below grade level and need exciting, high interest, low level reading materials to help them get the skills they need to catch up. I want my students to develop a love of reading a variety of genres, while exploring current events.
