Math 24 is an annual district competition. It encourages participants to use four digits to add, subtract, multiply, or divide to equal 24. The first participant to orally say the equations collets the point. The school winner goes to district to compete with other students. The snacks will reward students for their participation in fact fluency. Even though some students will give incorrect responses, I want each one to receive a token for their participation. Research states that children will strive at higher rates when rewarded. Children love snacks. Sometimes they need that extra incentive to motivate them to push harder. I want to be the sunshine in these little kid's faces. They need to know that Math is fun and rewarding.
