As an English teacher of both honors and ELD students, precise and personal feedback on writing is the number one way to help students improve their writing. But with distance learning, students will be turning things in online and the drag and drop grading in the digital world is cumbersome and not very personal. A tablet will make it possible to write comments directly on their essays and make the feedback more personal. This year's distance learning will be difficult enough to create relationships with kids without adding the impersonal drag and drop grading of traditional online grading systems. I would like to draw a real smiley face.
