My classroom is full of diverse learners, with many needs. I'd like our classroom to be a safe, comfortable environment for students and offer a variety of seating options that will give students choice and movement that some of them need. Flexible seating offers many positive benefits that can help our classroom run more smoothly.
When providing a comfortable classroom, I feel my students can truly focus on learning.
By giving my students choice in their seating options this will help them learn a sense of independence and ownership in their learning.
Some students not only need a comfortable place to sit like at the kid’s table and chairs, on the bean bag, or on floor pillows while using the coffee table. They may also need an outlet for pent up energy as many students have a hard time sitting still; the active core engagement stools will allow my students to wiggle while they are working. My goal of this project is to optimize learning and I think providing these flexible/alternative seats could do that for my students.
