Friends, I invite you into my school reality. I am an educator for an urban school. The student population that I teach is multiculturally diverse. Ninety percent of these students receive free and reduced lunch. Most students at a very early age have been exposed to domestic violence, drugs, and homelessness. This year, I mostly teach intermediate grade levels. I have geared my proposal in meeting the needs of my third grade class. This group of potential learners seeks stability, knowledge, and self identity. These fulfilling experiences may enable them to enhance their coping skills better when confronted with everyday life obstacles.
