I have a class of five special education students who are amazing, but need that extra help. They tend to reach their IEP goals, but I can see the potential is there for more. I also have 8-10 resource students who come in and out through out the day, providing a bigger challenge as a teacher but one I face head on. All of these students are from the poorest area of our city, and the school has no extra resources like the county does. We are an old building, going on 100 years old. The chalkboards barely work; I have no other resources other than what I buy myself.
