We are definitely not an ordinary school! My first grade students and I are nestled in one of four rooms in a pod. Our first grade pod consists of one large room with a class in each corner. We have two walls, and in the place of the other two would-be-walls, we have a few bookshelves between the classrooms. The layout of our pod definitely helps us feel a heightened sense of connectedness between all of the first grade classes. Our students, teachers, families, and staff collectively work together to ensure that we are living by the 4 Cs: Community, Commitment, Curiosity, and Compassion.

About my class
