Our Title 1 school was built in 1908; our teacher's dad went to high school here! Now it's an elementary school with more than 600 students. We want to understand people and places outside of our rural South Georgia community, so we look at video clips and read about other people and places. Many of us have never been to big cities, climbed mountains, trekked a dessert, or dipped our feet in salt water. Reading magazines like Storyworks helps us relate with other folks and get new ideas. Our parents raise us to have good manners, respect adults, show compassion, and think about the future. They hope we will become innovative adults who will bring jobs and improvements to our farming area.
