My students will have the opportunity, with your donations, to select from a variety of seating options within our 4th grade classroom. These flexible seating options, whether it be an active learning stool, yoga balance ball, or a sensory hammock have shown to improve attention and decrease restlessness. By providing a wide variety of flexible seating options, all students- whether they have ADD, ADHD, or learning disabilities, will have the opportunity to have a choice which will help students reach their full potential. Providing these flexible seating options in the classroom allows students a level of comfort necessary to "on track" learning. When students are comfortable and feel safe in their classroom environment, they are less likely to demonstrate negative aggressive or disruptive behavior which will put them on the road to success.
For some, school is the only stability they have in their lives. So it is my job to provide the best environment for them to learn and grow. This will help keep students excited about learning.
