I teach 17 amazing 3rd grade students at an inner city neighborhood school. All of my students come to school excited about learning despite the challenges poverty has plagued them with. They are so excited to learn new things and crave knowledge that will lead them to a better life. Unfortunately my school is severely lacking in funding and is unable to provide curriculum or books for my students. I fund almost everything in my classroom and check out books every weekend from the public library to help my students fall in love with reading. The books we do have are so old and the students are not interested in reading them. Nothing makes my students happier then Monday mornings when I have brought in new books for them to read. Imagine how they would feel if you were able to donate a whole class set of books for them to read and discover new cultures around the world!
