My classroom is full of positive and engaged children who are curious and eager learners. I am a special education teacher and teach students in a small group setting, modifying learning to suit their learning styles, different disabilities and areas of need. Students in my classroom have mild learning disabilities, which generally fall under the following categories: specific learning disability, speech and language impairment, dyslexia, ADD/ADHD and other health impaired. All my students come from low-income families; 68% of students in my school receive free meals and have very limited reading resources at home. Most of my students are struggling readers and need variety of multi-sensory learning methods that aid them in the literacy learning process. All of my students live in urban part of the bay area in CA.
