I am looking forward to transitioning and transforming my classroom into a place that provides movement through alternative seating to improve participation and behavior within the traditional classroom setting. My desire is to provide an environment that allows choices in seating to increase critical thinking, communication and collaboration. Providing my students with alternative seating options such as stadium chairs, bean bags, lap desks and stools, will give them different options for learning as well being comfortable in the classroom all day. My hope is to gradually introduce different seating options throughout the year to provide an environment that will foster student engagement and make my classroom a more desirable place to be.
