My students are third graders who are full of personality and have lots of potential to do great things in their lifetime. My students want to learn and unfortunately have a lot of economical disadvantages that hinder their learning on a daily basis. My school is definitely a safe zone for 95% of my students. Many of my students arrive to school, not at their best, because of negative things happening at home and in and around their neighborhood. They cant afford to buy the essential supplies such as pencils and paper needed to learn on a daily basis. It is very evident that many of my students don't eat a complete meal unless they are at school for breakfast or lunch. My school is labeled economically disadvantaged. The student population is made up of mostly Hispanic and African American. This school year all of our students will receive free breakfast and lunch due to the demographics of our school.
