The young scholars of Harlem are getting a musical experience they will never forget! Our students deserve a chance to change their lives and empower their community and ourMusic program is going to help them on their way. The universal language of music gives them the opportunity to express emotions and ideas they may have trouble communicating in their core classes. Every student I've had in my ensembles has blown me away with their effort and resilience in the face of their difficult day-to-day lives. Homelessness and broken homes are common and an intact nuclear family is a true rarity in our city- it is more often that our students consider their classmates and educators their true family- as they receive so much support throughout their school day. A string ensemble will encourage teamwork, concentration, creativity and focus. Together, we will grow a love for music with the young scholars of our community!
