My fourth graders are urban students in a public elementary school in a large city. My class is multicultural and varies with students of many learning levels. In a time when public education is under fire, my school isn't provided with the funding to keep students immersed in relevant, quality literature. Many of the books we read come out from funding provided by the teacher themselves. In order to create a quality reading and learning experience for my students, I'm requesting a class set of books to teach with a consistent manner that allows students to discuss and share the attributes of the literature.
