I teach a group of the most amazing 7th and 8th grade students in the city of Columbus. Most come from low income backgrounds, and all live in urban settings. Our students are avid consumers of media and film, but for many the idea of making their own films doesn't seem possible. Although they have seen the endless examples of shaky, grainy, impossible to understand cellphone videos on YouTube, the thought of producing a professional quality video of their own is overwhelming.

About my class
