In a rural area in Michigan, I teach in school district where we are continually seeing the economic devastation of our community and our families. We have recently reached the 50% free/reduced lunch rate and have witnessed an exodus of families in search of employment. However, we still remain dedicated to the education of our students. In my classroom, I strive to offer the best education I can to my 11th and 12th grade English and College Prep students and help them to prepare for college, helping them realize it's not an unobtainable dream.

About my class
