My students have to overcome a multitude of barriers to receive the education they deserve. I have one student who one day was unable to come to school because he lost his only white, collared shirt. Simple, essential school supplies are even harder to come by. My students deserve to have all the educational materials they need to succeed, but unfortunately in the district we live in, the funding just is not there.
