My young scholars come from an impoverished area where graffiti and crime are a daily occurrence. Our School is a haven not only for learning, but a safe place where they can receive unconditional love, a hot meal, and a chance to work towards their dream of attending college. Our students are encouraged daily to strive to give their best as they pursue their academic and personal goals. Keeping their spirits up can sometimes be a challenge especially when they come to school and find that the campus has been vandalized or graffiti again. Our young scholars have a hard time understanding why school isn't important to all kids and why everyone would not want to attend college.
