My students need to build number sense daily through engaging and meaningful ways. The number talk kit would provide my students experiences to be flexible with their solutions and to consider alternative strategies. Number talks will allow my students to build number sense and their ability to be flexible, efficient, and accurate with their solutions. Number strings encourage students to think of different ways to arrive to answers and to consider the pathways their classmates have taken too. They are provided opportunities to explain their math thinking and to deepen their understanding of math concepts. They need the daily practice to develop math concepts using a variety of math tools and visuals or order to have the fluency to apply to more complex math.
