Welcome to the world of science! My students live in Southern California. These teens are passionate and creative, diverse and talented, and they keep me young at heart! My classroom is dynamic and interactive, where students inspire me to be my best every day. My students work hard while they learn through inquiry, on how science is involved in our every day lives. I use STEM principals (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) whenever possible, and this year, we have begun to transition to NGSS (Next Generation Science Standards). We are also a proud AVID school, where I use WICOR strategies (Writing, Inquiry, Collaboration, OrganizatIon, Reading) daily. Students enjoy hands on learning, and I love providing them with the supplies necessary to discover science through labs, and the tools to build/engineer things themselves because that is when TRUE LEARNING takes place.
