Many of my students have not had a wonderful school experience and have been labeled as the "bad kids" or the future "drop-outs, this couldn't be further from the truth. They are kids that cannot learn in a traditional school setting and need an alternative way of learning. They need to see activities and have a first-hand experience with these activities so they may understand the importance of each one. Many of these children have already experienced life altering events in their young lives. My students have had issues with attendance, by providing them with fun, exciting and educational activities their interest is peaked and they want to come to school and participate in the labs and activities. My students need to be engaged and challenged through a variety of experiences. The students in my class attend the alternative school in our district. Our program is designed to help these students before "drop-out" is a reality.
