Reflection is critical to learning. By keeping interactive journals, specifically the green composition books, students will have opportunities to create and challenge their ideas throughout the semester. It will also be a space for them to track personal and academic growth for our final project. So much is done electronically these days, especially after our extended virtual learning experience last year. I want to give my students a more tangible learning experience. That is why I also added pens, pencils, and sharpies to the list. The fruit snacks are a sweet way to add a quick boost of energy. My hope is that these journals unlock creativity and inner curiosity. These journals will be a space to ask questions and get answers from within. Last, but not least, the singleton journal is for one of my mentors' who helps out in the class. I wanted her to have a "special" journal to track her own personal and academic goals throughout our time together next semester.
