Can you imagine waking up in the morning and feeling as if you have the weight of the world on your shoulders? You struggle in school and you have equal challenges at home. Many of the students I work with face challenges both academically and at home. I work in a Title1 school. This means that most of the children I work with are on free and reduced lunch. Many struggle with poverty. My students are AWESOME! They are sponges and when given opportunities to learn they gravitate toward the new and exciting challenge presented to them! Many of my students struggle with language, as many of them come from homes where English is not the primary language. They need not only a teacher but someone who will support and encourage them in all areas of their being.
