Every child, anywhere in this world, deserves a high quality education. However, not all children are receiving it. Due to financial disparities, some schools in our nation are poorly underfunded in comparison to their counterparts in more affluent neighborhoods. This has been going on for centuries. Thanks to Donors Choose, these gaps are closing. Donors Choose helps connect people that believe that all children deserve the best to educators like myself that think the same way, but do not have the means to follow through. It takes a village to raise a child, which means that teachers need support. My students come from low income families. 95% of our students qualify for free or reduced lunch. At our school, we understand that our students do not have the easiest lives. However, we do not lower our expectations of them. Once we show that we believe in them, they can begin to believe in themselves.
