My students all live on the Rosebud Indian Reservation. They are some of the most perseverant individuals I have ever met. Many students wake up with unimaginable troubles weighing on their minds. Somehow they are able to come to school, put their troubles aside for a few hours, and try their hardest to ensure they have a better life than the one they have now. The 15 students taking Algebra this year at the middle school have overcome so many obstacles. These challenges have been put in their way because of where they were born and/or the poverty in which they grew. Taking and passing the end of the year Algebra test would be a testament to their hard work and diligence.

About my class
