Hampden Elementary/Middle School is a *community* school with many proud traditions. Multiple generations have attended our school. We love having visitors and encourage parent and family involvement in many ways. My classroom is open to other teachers, guests and support staff from our school district. My first grade students are bright, eager learners who show a genuine openness to not only learning, but being challenged while doing so.
We smile while we learn. We ask each other questions. We compliment each other. We are learning more about research and using technology while doing so. My students are diverse in many ways: personality, family background, learning styles and capabilities. But we are a group that supports one another no matter those differences. Overall, we are a school that is trying our very best to meet the challenges of the future and best prepare our students for those challenges. It begins early and I love playing a role in the lives of my students.
