Student engagement matters and has a definite impact on student outcomes with their academic performance and persistence on achieving their academic goals. In my class having the resources available through Flocabulary and BrainPOP will allow students to actively be engaged in learning various ELA curriculum concepts and will give them a way to learn through the computer screen with virtual learning expectations in an effective way. Flocabulary will give students engaging videos, activities, practice, and quizzes to evaluate their learning of different skills. Implementing Flocabulary can be used to help students with learning differences, it will build students' vocabulary repertoire in all subject areas, and will help students stay engaged in their learning process. BrainPop will give students engaging videos related to writing, grammar, study & reading skills, and famous authors/books. Implementing BrainPop will keep students engaged, give students an opportunity to reflect and make connections to concepts we are learning, and is again accessible to diverse learners. There are many challenges that have been faced with the circumstances of COVID right now and how that has affected learning for students, but I believe Flocabulary, BrainPop, and resources from Teachers Pay Teachers will encourage students to persevere even more during these unprecedented times in education. I know resources from Teachers Pay Teachers will help keep my students engaged during our virtual learning instruction time. I would use the funds to search for Teachers Pay Teachers activities that could push my students academically to cover necessary standards to make sure they are engaged in actively learning to strive for academic excellence. I believe all of the resources requested for this Donors Choose Project will make a difference for my students and will have a positive impact on their academic performance leading to WILDCAT EXCELLENCE.
