I work at a Title One school in Texas and my students don't often get many opportunities outside of school to read. They don't always have the support they need at home. A lot of my students are struggling readers and are below grade level. Despite the odds against them and the struggles they face outside of school, they always greet me in the morning eager to learn and anxious for what that the day brings. Their natural curiosity is out of this world! It is so important to harness that and engage it with their reading.
