Math is often a class where students are frustrated by "getting the wrong answer". Using non-permanent writing surfaces such as whiteboards or digital boards promotes risk-taking because mistakes can easily be erased. When we use erasable surfaces, students are more likely to start problems and show thinking than when using paper and pen. It builds their confidence and enhances organization of thinking to get their ideas and work out in a low-risk way. This project will supply my students with materials that they can use daily in class to show thinking and work through problems. I am submitting a request for whiteboards, dry erase markers, and digital writing boards. The digital writing boards offer the additional perk of being able to save and submit work digitally.
