I teach a 4th grade class with a great group of students. Many of the students in my class live in shelters. Most of the students live in extreme poverty. My goal is to try to expose them to as much as possible in their learning experiences. The 4th graders in my class come from a high-needs, public education school located in an inner-city neighborhood in Southern California. Our school is trying to implement the new Common Core Standards which incorporate a lot of reading into the curriculum.
