Many of my students do not have fluent readers that read with them at home. With my project, I want to give my students that opportunity in the classroom where they have the resources available to have that opportunity. My students beg me to read to them each day. Class sets of novels would allow my students to read WITH me when we read, which would foster their love of reading. By having a listening center as well as new books to read, it will give my students a great opportunity to hear fluent readers. By hearing fluent readers, they themselves learn how to become fluent readers.
