Preschoolers respond best to the colors of nature. Natural wood and colors of nature encourage a relaxed setting where preschool aged children are encouraged to explore, learn and play. Two areas in my classroom that need updating are my dramatic play center and circle time area. We use the stove, refrigerator, sink and hutch as standard equipment to help create some of the following centers: submarine center, fire station, restaurants, animal hospital, baby center, ice cream shop, space station, campground, hospital, aviary and so much more! The dramatic play area is changed every 2-3 weeks based on the interests of the students. We also need a carpet to help define personal space during circle time. The leaves on this rug make perfect visual spaces for my preschoolers!
