Interactive read alouds are the core of our reading instruction. My students love to read and love being read to. Reading gives us the opportunity to explore the world beyond the walls of our classroom, explore the world around us and engage in deep discussions about the experiences of others. I have carefully curated a collection of diverse read alouds to take my students on many different journeys to explore diverse characters, authors, illustrators and voices. Exposing my students to the voices of diverse characters and experiences will nurture a community of inclusion and acceptance. I have included multiple copies of these books so that my entire 2nd grade team can engage their classrooms in these readalouds! This collection of books will engage the entire grade level of 2nd graders.
