The daily grind of required learning for students at Troy High School starts at 8:30 and ends at 3:15. Extending beyond this time, students and I stay after school for our THS Spoken Word/Hip-Hop Workshops. Here students release their inner voice, their passions, their intellect and their words. In the comfort of room 314, students learn to depend on each other and share their voice to develop their view in their world in a non-judgemental environment. For many students, this is only the beginning. Students have the option of sharing their words in Open Mics, Slams, and assemblies. Students have the choice to impact their community in a way that allows others of all ages to hear their voices.
