My students are middle schoolers. They come from a quickly growing community in middle Tennessee. Our school is fairly new, but my students are looked at as the "under dogs" of the community. Some of my students come from great homes, but the majority comes from lower income homes. My students take so much pride in their school and want to do their best. When I come to work I know that I have to teach my curriculum, but I also have to love my students let them know that no matter what they can be successful.
