Our students have 100% free and reduced lunch and 75% of students are English language learners. Within our school, we have begun to build a passion for reading by building units around novels that will engage students and build mastery within the content standards. Yet, what the students are still missing is the ability to read on their own for enjoyment. Our library is out of date and we don't have the finances to put forth to make it any better. These students need the opportunity to be exposed to a variety of literature that will open their eyes to the world around them.

About my class
