"I teach 6th, 7th and 8th grade at a Title 1 school (high-needs, 100% free-lunch, not-so-nice area of a large city). The school is old. It has no air conditioning, yet temperatures in May, June and September do get up there. My neighbor teachers and I are located on the top floor, each with a large bank of windows facing south. On a good day, our students only need to overcome crime, poverty, family problems and other daily issues. When it is hot and sunny, they have to battle the heat, too.
