For some of my students, this is their first experience in a school setting. All of my students receive free or reduced price lunch. My class is comprised of students that are English as a second language learners. They need visual pictures and a lot of examples to understand and grab new concepts while learning another language. Most of my students have little or no help at home for their learning needs. In many cases, their parents are illiterate themselves.
