My students know hardships and come to me from very difficult home lives. Many of them suffer from poverty and hunger. We provide for them through the district breakfast and lunch. The 6 hours they spend with me as for many the safest they are in a day. Despite these hardships they come to school to learn with smiles on their faces. We create environment of safety and kindness. We want their smiles to go deeper than just their face. Their hearts should feel their smile. Belonging to a community, working hard, being successful, making mistakes are all things we do together. These are what help build pride and confidence in my students. We learn through watching and supporting each other.
