Our High School is located in Illinois and is a Title I school. The majority of our students receive free and reduced lunch which is an income based program. Many of our athletes do not have the financial means to play club softball or even buy their own equipment. One of my athletes said "It's just so hard because we want to be better but my parents don't have the kind of money to take lessons." I think I am the coach that can give them the skills and lessons they need. However, we do not have the funds as a program to buy the necessary equipment to help us compete.
