My students are very low income. I teach in a Title 1 school where most students get financial assistance. Many students get clothes donated to them due to the lack of funds at home. I have 13 boys and 7 girls this year. They are the sweetest kids you will ever meet. They deserve all of the things that students with better financial backgrounds have. The students love to learn. Many days I am not sure, but I think I might be the only hug and kind words that they receive. Our school is very supportive and due to our PTO, we are funded for some things. The students just could use more. They want to learn and better themselves, and as an educator, I see that as my number one job!
