I teach two half-day Kindergarten classes (AM and PM). My students attend a suburban school in Nevada with wonderful, loving staff, and even more wonderful parents. The fast pace of half-day classes keeps the students and me on our toes. In that time, we are required to complete and master the same curriculum as those students attending full-day programs. The students have positive attitudes and respond well to heightened expectations. It is amazing to see the "light bulbs" turn on as they learn new concepts, and how excited they become to build upon new learning. As one can imagine, a classroom full of lively and excited youngsters can be quite active.
