My third grade students come to school each day with smiles, hugs, and laughter. We are located in a high poverty, rural school district in Michigan. Coming from a small school and a tight-knit community, the teachers and students in our K-12 school all know each other quite well. On average, our school has a population of about 300 students. We have one teacher per grade level, which makes for a very personal, unique atmosphere where the academic and social development of our students is our top priority. I have been teaching in our school district for seven years, and am looking forward to many more years of guiding children in the learning process.
