I work with many general education classes of mainly African American and Hispanic students that come from low income houses and are at poverty level. All of my classes receive free breakfast and lunch. Most of the class learn best through auditory and visual means. As these children are constantly immersed in technology in their world outside of school, as a teacher, I am trying to find ways to use technology to reinforce concepts taught. There are many great, educational, purposeful learning apps that students can access through the iPad. Students can also use these apps as a way for behavior management and as part of a teacher's reward system within the class.
